The work experience program involves :

  • The school
  • The student
  • The employee

The purpose of work experience is for the school, student and employee to work in a co-operative educational effort to enhance, to support, and to extend the student's learning experience while attending school. The program provides direction for career choices in the fields of business, entertainment and industry, social sciences, municipal government and other professions through effective use of community as well as a realistic learning resource.

Grade 10, 11, 12 students may undertake school directed activities as an integral part of their planned high school program under the supervision of a teacher for a total of 2 credits.

Students enroll to :

  • Explore a potential career
  • Receive practical on-the-job training
  • Develop acceptable work habits and self discipline
  • Enhance their chances of securing employment after leaving school
